AfricaCanada.org is an advocacy group based out of the Liu Institute for Global Issues and the Simon K.Y. Lee Global Lounge and Resource Centre at the University of British Columbia (UBC) that focuses on ethical advocacy practices.

Ethical advocacy means reflecting critically on international engagement and understandings of social justice by challenging assumptions of dominant advocacy narratives.

We also provide a platform for critical reflection on the involvement of Canadian stakeholders in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.

In particular, we are committed to supporting the courageous efforts of locally-led advocacy efforts in the region. To find out more about how you can express solidarity with these efforts, and to learn about current issues related to Canada and the Great Lakes Region, and to stay current on events we are holding in the Vancouver area, please visit our blog.
